Hi, I'm Ben Serlippens, a senior full-stack developer and technical lead with 15+ years of experience. I specialise in integration-heavy, multi-tenant web apps built on Laravel and Symfony with React/TypeScript front-ends, and I connect products to the payment, payroll, accounting, messaging and AI systems they depend on. I work remotely the way a good in-house lead works: in your channel every morning, visible in your board and your repo, taking ownership from design to deployment.

My core strength: connecting your product to the messy external systems it lives or dies by, such as payment providers, payroll & accounting, messaging and AI. If it has an API (or barely does), I make it reliable, logged and testable.

How I Work

Remote, but in the room

I'm not in your office, so I make up for it on purpose. Being present isn't about hours online, it's about how often your team sees what's happening. Most clients tell me they hear more from me than from people sitting two desks away.

In your tools, not next to them

Your Slack or Teams, your board, your repo, your ceremonies. No separate freelancer island and no weekly status email. If someone has to go looking to find out what I did, the setup already failed.

A written standup, every morning

Three lines in the team channel at the same time each day: done, next, blocked. Nobody ever has to ask where things stand, and you get a written log of the whole engagement for free.

A video walkthrough of anything I ship

Two to five minutes with every non-trivial pull request: what changed, why this way, where the risk is, what I'd watch after deploy. Reviewable at 22:00 by whoever missed the meeting.

Fixed overlap hours

A named block of the day, agreed up front, where I answer within half an hour. Outside it, the same working day. Written into the agreement rather than left to hope.

Small pull requests, pushed daily

Progress you watch accumulate instead of one big reveal at the end. It also means you can stop at any point and keep everything of value.

Decisions written down

Short notes in your repo: what we chose, what we rejected, why. The reasoning stays with your team long after the engagement ends.

If it helps, day one is in your office, so we meet properly and I see how the team really works. After that I'm in your channel every morning, and back on a train whenever a workshop or a hairy migration day is worth being there for. Currently taking on around two days a week.
